DISS THESES (PH.D.) -- United States International University, U.S.A., 1981 Relative monetary costs and lifetime income benefits associated with acquisition of advanced degrees abroad for Iranian students are assessed with net Lifetime income calculated through a series of variables corresponding to employment, taxes, retirement and minimum consumption requirements. Results of study are analyzed, indicating that heavy cost of education abroad made private gain in investment in higher education incommensurate with private gain in other type of investment non-economic factors causing Iranian students to study abroad are examined and discussed.
